Okay I'm looking into the slingbox for when I'm on the road. Has anyone tried out the slingbox or have any suggestions about the system. I have a DVR HD from dish network and was wondering if i can run a slingbox solo on it. I dont care about the HD on the road from my laptop or iphone. I just want to be able view my content from my home DVR.
You'd still need some kinda wifi or data connection, right? You might want to consider a booster antenna for your rig, that will get you better signal than the joke of a wifi card built in to laptops. You can find some great stuff for about $25 that gets great range. Have you checked out Hulu? With websites like that, who needs cable or dish anymore. You can stream all your favorite shows at the click of a mouse.
